Frequently Asked Questions

You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers

Booking & Services

Q: How do I book my dog's stay?

A: Simply contact us by phone or email to check availability. We recommend booking in advance, especially during holidays and school breaks, as these tend to be our busiest times. We'll arrange a meet-and-greet on neutral territory before your dog's first stay to ensure they're comfortable with us. I also recommend drop off sessions if you have a nervous or anxious dog to build up their confidence.

Please also note any stay longer than 3 nights for your dogs first boarding with us will require a trial night. For example, if you plan to go away for 7 nights on holiday and it is the first time you are using our services, you will need to arrange both a meet-and-greet, (a drop off session for any nervous dogs), as well as an overnight trial night.

Q: Do you offer day care as well as overnight boarding?

A: Yes! We provide both day care and overnight boarding services. Day care is perfect for busy work days, while our overnight boarding gives your provides your dog with a loving home away from home.

Q: What are your rates?

A: Our rates vary depending on the length of stay and your dogs specific needs. Please contact us for a personalised quote. We believe in transparent pricing with no hidden fees.

Health & Safety

Q: Which vaccinations does my dog need?

A: For everyone's safety, we require current vaccinations for rabies, distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, and preferably kennel cough (Bordetella). Please bring vaccination records with your dog, email them across, or have your vet send copies directly to our email address.

Q: What if my dog needs medication?

A: We're happy to administer medications as prescribed by your vet. Please provide clear instructions on your booking form, and we'll ensure your dog maintains their regular routine.

Q: What happens if my dog becomes ill during their stay?

A: Your dog's health is our priority. We'll contact you immediately and, with your permission, arrange veterinary care. We work with local trusted vets to ensure prompt attention if needed. We also require emergency contact details in case it is not possible to obtain you, so that they can make decisions on your behalf. They would only be contacted in an emergency situation, and only if it were not possible to reach you, the owners.

Daily Care & Routine

Q: What does a typical day look like for my dog?

A: Your dog will follow a routine similar to their usual routine at home - regular meals, walks, playtime, and plenty of cuddles. We adapt to your dog's usual schedule as much as possible to minimise disruption and put them at ease.

Q: How much exercise will my dog get?

A: Every dog will get individual attention and exercise tailored to their needs - from gentle strolls for senior dogs to energetic play sessions for younger pups. We ensure they're happy, fulfilled and tired by bedtime!

Q: Can you accommodate special diets or feeding routines?

A: Absolutely! Please bring your dog's regular food, treats (if permitted!) and provide detailed feeding instructions on our booking form. We're experienced with special diets, medications, and specific routines.

Your Dog's Comfort

Q: Where will my dog sleep?

A: Your dog will have a comfortable sleeping area in our home - never in kennels or outdoor runs. Many dogs enjoy sleeping on our sofa or designated dog beds, or their own bed, just like they would at home.

Q: How how do you handle anxious or nervous dogs?

A: We understand that some dogs need extra patience or care. We take the time to build trust, provide gentle reassurance, and create a calm environment. Your dog's comfort is our top priority. Please feel free to call me to discuss your concerns, and we can arrange a suitable plan.

Q: Can I bring my dog's toys, bedding, or comfort items?

A: Yes - please do! Familiar items and smells will help your dog feel more at home. We encourage bringing their favourite toys, blankets, or anything that provides comfort.

A: Of course! We provide regular updates via text, wassapp or email, including photos and videos of your happy pup. We know you miss them, and we love sharing how well they're doing.

Q: What if I need to contact you during my dog's stay?

A: We're always available for concerned pet parents. You can reach us by phone, text, or email anytime during your dog's stay.

Practical Information

Q: What should I bring?

A: Bring enough food for the entire stay, any medications, vaccination records (if not already sent by email), comfort items, and completed booking forms. We provide bowls, leads, and lots of love!

Q: Do you have set drop-off and pick-up times?

A: No, we do not have set timings - we work entirely around your schedule and requirements. Whether you need an early morning drop-off before work, a late evening collection, or weekend arrangements, we're here to accommodate your needs.
